Biology Minor

Biology Minor A minor in biology at Belmont provides the student with a broad overview of basic biological principles (8 hours) and allows the student then to choose among a variety of courses those which most closely match his/her interests (14 hours).

Students who might find a biology minor useful include:

  • a Business major who intends to enter pharmaceutical or medical sales
  • a Psychology major who wants to understand more about the biological basis for human mentality and behavior
  • a Pre-med student majoring in a non-biological major who wishes to prepare for the MCAT and medical school
  • a Pre-law student who wishes to specialize in medical or biological areas of practice
  • an English major with an interest in writing in the fields of biology, natural history, or medicine
  • an Education student interested in obtaining endorsements in biology
  • a student wishing to enrich his/her education in the areas of wildlife, human physiology, genetics and molecular biology, or ecology
