Budget Workshop descriptions:
Part 1

The first part of the Budget Manager workshop will include discussion on basic fund accounting principles and a definition of terms we will be discussing.  This will include topics such as characteristics of a FOAPAL and restricted vs. unrestricted funds.  Part one will also include instructions on all accounting forms, purchasing card procedures and discussion on quality as it pertains to document support. 

Part 2

Part two of the Budget Manager workshop will begin with an overview of university purchasing policies and how the policies affect the daily operations of your department.  Part two will also include a summary of the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), instruction on payroll forms from the Human Resources office as well as a brief discussion covering the hiring and termination process.  Following that we will cover the processes and procedures of the payroll forms administered by the accounting office.
