Timothy Tappan, Ed.D.

I started playing the piano at age five and haven't stopped since. Even though I graduated from Ball State University with a B.S. in Education majoring in mathematics and chemistry, I knew music was in my future.

After teaching on the secondary level for two years, I began traveling with some bands and eventually found my way to Nashville as the pianist and musical director for the artist, Bobby Goldsboro. Shortly I had also become a studio musician, a musical director for several TV shows, a publisher, a record producer, a commercial advertising copywriter, and a songwriter. My biggest commercial songwriting success was Lee Greenwood's, Fool's Gold, which was a number one record and one for which I received two gold records.

I completed my M.Ed. at Belmont University in 2000 and am currently enrolled in a doctoral program in education at Trevecca Nazarene University. I have grown children who live here in Nashville (along with a few grandchildren) and one daughter in Dublin, Ireland. My wife, Tama, and I live much closer to Belmont.
