A. Improper Display of Permit - $25.00
B. Improper Parking (see comments on the comment area of the citation) - $50.00
C. No Parking Permit - $50.00
D. Parking in a No Parking Area (lawns, curbs, walkways, etc.)- $50.00
E. Parking in Restricted Area - $50.00
F. Parking in a Fire Lane - $100.00
G. Speeding or Unsafe Operation - $50.00
H. Parked in Handicapped Space without proper authorization - $100.00
I. Parking Opposing Traffic or taking up more than one parking space - $50.00
J. Towing & Immobilizing Boot ; Reasons vehicles may be towed or immobilized without notice include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Unauthorized parking in a handicapped space.
- Blocking traffic or fire lane.
- Disabled vehicles left on campus for more than seven days without specific approval.
- Vehicle involved in arrest for DUI.
- Vehicles previously cited at least three times during the current semester.
- Subsequent to the third offense, vehicles may be towed or immobilized each time they are found in violation, regardless of whether previous fines have been paid. After five violations, parking privileges may be revoked.
- Unauthorized parking Belmont Commons.
- Unauthorized parking at Bruin Hills.
- Unauthorized parking at Hillside.
- Parking in guest parking in front of MBC and Freeman with a Belmont University Decal
- Parking in a Belmont Mansion parking space with a Belmont University Decal
- Parking in a Handicapped parking space without proper authorization.
- Parking in a parking space that has been reserved for special uses or in parking spaces that the Office of Campus Security has reserved for 'special' guest.
- Unauthorized parking at residential areas.
- Other serious situations as circumstances dictate. Release of the Immobilizing Boot must be arranged at the Office of Campus Security. An administrative fee of $30.00 will be charged to the vehicle owner/driver.
K. Unauthorized parking during special events - $100.00
Belmont University invites off-campus guests for special events on campus. In some cases, parking will be reserved for these guests. The date, time, and name of guest or event will be posted on a sign in the space(s) to be reserved. Sometimes, a generic "NO PARKING" or "HANDICAP PARKING ONLY" sign will be used in place of the more detailed signs.
Any faculty, staff, or student parked in a reserved space will be fined $100.00.
