Why did you choose Belmont?
I came to Belmont and took a campus tour and I just fell in love with the campus. My cousins actually attended Belmont when it was still Belmont College. So, I kind of knew about the school, but I didn’t know if Nashville was going to be the right place for me, or Belmont. And I came, and I just loved the campus, it was just beautiful, and the people were so friendly and nice. And it just felt like, this is where I needed to be. It felt like the proper fit.

What are you involved in on campus?
I’m involved in Phi Mu sorority, and I’m a Bruin recruiter, which just goes around and promotes Belmont and recruits people to come to the school. And I’m involved in Habitat for Humanity and Relay for Life, and I’m an active, semi-member of the Brentwood Baptist Church.

What’s been most beneficial to you as a student at Belmont?
I can say that honestly the most beneficial part of Belmont has been just the friendships that I have made. I’ve made such wonderful friends, and there’s not a day that goes by that I don’t pass someone on the campus or see just a friendly face. And it’s so comforting to know that I just have so many friends here at Belmont, and it’s just been amazing.

What has the relationship been like between you and your professors?
I’ve absolutely loved all of my professors. They’re just so helpful in anything. I’ve been in a class size from 40 students to four, and no matter what, they’re always there willing to work with you with any challenges you may have in the class. They really care about you, which I didn’t know if I would just kind of be a number like at big schools, but they really do care. If something is going on in your life and it’s affecting your schoolwork, they want to know, they want to know what’s wrong. They want to try to help you. They’ve just been absolutely wonderful and just made my Belmont experience just unforgettable.

How has attending Belmont helped you?

Belmont has helped me inside and outside the classroom. It has just helped my challenge myself and to be placed in real world situations and to just be confident in myself and know that I’m going to be OK when I have to go out and get a job, or I’m going to be OK when I have to go for a job interview that I’m going to feel confident in saying that I attended Belmont University, and they’re going to be impressed -- it’s just prepared me. With convocation, it’s helped me feel more worldly, more cultured to be able to go and look at all the academic lectures, participate in community service and just know that I’m going to be a good part of the Nashville community whenever I graduate.

What are your plans after graduation?
When I graduate, I have my math degree, but I’ve learned that it’s so flexible and that you can do so many different things. I would love to work in the music business, and with my math degree, I think, it will kind of set me apart. I’m not necessarily a math wiz at all, but I’m very determined in what I do. And so, I think with the music business -- combining my determination and my love for music -- I think it would be great fit. And I could always teach. If I did teach, I’d probably teach fourth grade because that was long division and multiplication, and that was just fun. I’ll probably actually end up teaching.
