Facilities/Amenities

The rooms in Heron are suite-style, meaning that two rooms share an adjoining bathroom. Heron rooms are mostly double occupancy, though some larger rooms house three occupants. Each room is equipped with a sink, cable hook-up, a voicemail box for each resident, and internet hook-ups for each resident.

Laundry facilities are located in the basement of Heron Hall. There are also handicap accessible laundry facilities available on the first floor. Coins are not needed for residents to use the laundry facilities. A one-time fee assessed to the resident each year pays for her use of the washers and dryers.

A kitchen, equipped with a full size refrigerator, a microwave, cabinets, and a community sink is located in the basement as well. Also in the basement is a small lobby for study groups, small gatherings, or just hanging out! Vending machines are located in the basement and in the main lobby on the first floor.

There is a television in Heron's first floor lobby, where many residents and guests enjoy spending time. At the entrance to the building, in the lobby, is the Heron front desk, where male visitors check in and out, and residents check out games, vacuums, etc., or obtain assistance. The mailroom is located on the first floor of Heron, just off the lobby. Residents access Heron using their ID cards.
